In general: Do what you have to do to reduce the loss. Take pictures of the particular situation if possible.

We strongly suggest you discuss your claim with us first, as there are deductibles to consider and the dollar amount of the loss. There are situations when it’s better to step back and analyze the affect of a small claim on future premiums. We will be happy to counsel you.
